Equivalences between French and local university systems
The credits to be obtained per semester are generally as follows: 1 credit = 2 ECTS, but they are often discussed on a case-by-case basis with teachers, particularly for China and Japan.
Financial resources
For Japan and Korea, students must be able to demonstrate financial autonomy for the duration of their exchange (bank statements, proof of financing, etc.). The amount required depends on the university and the duration of the exchange.
At present, there are no financial requirements for China. For Taiwan, when applying for a visa, you must provide proof of at least 600 euros per month in personal income from your parents or yourself.

Health insurance
For Korea and Japan, exchange students are required to take out National Health Insurance after obtaining their Residence Card.
For Taiwan, exchange students are required to take out National Health Insurance after obtaining their Alien Resident Card (ARC) and six months' residence on Taiwanese territory.
Before leaving, it is advisable to check with your student mutual insurance company to find out about their offers specially designed for students going abroad, or with a private insurance company.
