Aix-Marseille University and its ISO 9001 certified Continuing Professional Development department support you in your training projects and strategies. All continuing education services are Qualicert and FCU certified. As part of this quality approach, we can be referenced in the Datadock referencing tool, which allows us to be integrated into the reference catalogues of vocational training funders and thus benefit from joint or public funding.
In collaboration with our public and private research and business partners, we are part of a process of continuous improvement of our training and service offer, to adapt to the new needs of individuals and companies.With its capacity for innovation and its excellent training offer, Aix-Marseille Université helps society's stakeholders to develop their skills. As such, it implements and offers services adapted to current challenges, for individuals and companies.
1.1 Benefits of continuing training
It promotes the employability of individuals, the competitiveness of businesses and the accessibility of knowledge and research. It is a real challenge for companies, which must constantly adapt employees' skills to individual aspirations and market needs in order to remain competitive.
1.2 Target audiences for continuing education
Continuing vocational training - integrated into lifelong learning - is aimed at individuals entering working life who wish to deepen or complete their training, with a view to upgrading, updating or broadening their skills. Implemented by universities, the continuing education offer is accessible regardless of the adult applicant's age, level of education and professional situation. Employees, job seekers, individuals and communities can therefore benefit from it.
1.3 What about the students?
Accessible to the student public, work-study training combines a theoretical learning phase at university and a practical learning phase in companies. There are two types of contracts for work-study training: the apprenticeship contract and the professionalization contract.
1.4 The services offered
The services offered by continuing training mainly cover three main areas:
- Advice and project development for individuals and companies;
- Modular and adapted training courses;
- Targeted support for professional development and retraining assistance.
The headquarters of the joint service is located in Aix, and we also have an office at the Faculty of Science at the St Charles site.
1.6 Advisory Council
The service sets up elections for the IAT representative of the service on the Advisory Board. The vote will take place on April 26 from 9am to 12pm in the meeting room, and the counting will take place at 4pm.
2. Quality approach
As a major lever for professional development and competitiveness, the common service for continuing vocational training, SFPC, coordinates and leads the policy of its President within AMU, under the aegis of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Labour. In 2017, the SFPC, already ISO 9001 certified since 2012, led all of AMU's continuing education to the FCU Véritas and Qualicert QOF quality certifications required by funders. The quality approach is part of the overallalement in the requirements and quality criteria set out in the law of 5 March 2014 on vocational training, employment and social democracy.
2.1 ISO 9001 Standard
The ISO 9001 standard is an international standard, it defines the requirements of a quality management system: the main aim of this approach is to improve the services offered but also to increase the satisfaction of internal and external beneficiaries. Certification is granted for a period of 3 years by an accredited body with an initial audit, followed by renewal audits every 3 years and follow-up audits every year to measure the proper functioning and evolution of the quality system. The general philosophy of the quality approach is part of a continuous improvement process, therefore it is a source of progress and innovation and constitutes a major lever in team management.It is a tool that promotes change in terms of:
- Human resources: organization, mobilization and dynamization of teams
- Planning and supervision of training activities
- Implementation of procedures and transparency
- Project development and management: step management and reliability
- Evaluation of the services offered: traceability, vigilance and satisfaction measurement
2.2 Internal regulations and general terms and conditions of sale
Like any public institution, the Continuing Professional Development department has its own internal rules of procedure for the attention of all persons involved in continuing vocational training.The training market is subject to certain business rules whose sales processes are governed by a legal framework surrounding the transaction. The general terms and conditions of sale are legal and mandatory information that forms the basis of commercial negotiations. They make it possible to define the liability of each of the parties, buyer and seller, and to limit disputes.
3. Follow-up of the continuing training (CF) activity
The SFPC, which is responsible for the institution's policy, provides the framework and development of continuing training. The pricing of diplomas specific to continuing training and those with adapted pathways for CF trainees is submitted each year to the Conseil de la Formation et de la Vie Universitaire for an opinion and validated by the Board of Directors:
Continuing education trainees have the opportunity to follow either specific training or national diplomas at the university. This activity is monitored on the basis of various indicators over time.
