The visit of the ERC President will mark an important moment for our community, which will have the opportunity to highlight the excellence of its scientific research and prepare for the deadlines of the ERC's next calls for proposals under the Horizon 2020 programme and its successor, Horizon Europe, for which the European Commission is planning a significant budget increase.

Jean-Pierre Bourguignon has been President of the ERC since 2014 and has helped to establish this Council in the European research landscape, working constantly to strengthen it.

He has informed us of its willingness to engage in a broad dialogue with ERC winners, teacher-researchers and researchers involved in project applications and the scientific community as a whole.
