AMPIRIC seminar - CréativLab CIMEd
PEDAGOGY THROUGH PLAY :
EMOTIONS AND LEARNING PROCESSES

The quarterly Ampiric seminar aims to build a common space for reflection on game-based pedagogy. Open to researchers, company managers, teachers and students from different disciplines gathered in the Ampiric project, it will take place in Paris and on the sites of the universities of Marseille, Nice and Avignon. The speakers' contributions will shed light on the knowledge, uses, issues, expectations, modes of commitment, transformations and concrete measures implemented to change educational practices through the development and integration of games.

The year 2020-2021 will be devoted to the theme of "emotions and learning processes". In particular, the following questions will be raised: How do educational games affect the sensitivity of learners? What is the educational value of emotions? How do they make learners engage in the learning process (triggering, concentration, perseverance)? How can they bring together learners who are separated by geographical, social and cultural barriers?

The session was an opportunity to exchange with the team involved in the Training Artefacts program on the EGRESS projects " Educational Game about Randomness & Evolution for Students in Science " (ANR-18-CE28-0007-01) led by Alice DELSERIEYS and ARTEfac "Augmented Reality for Teacher Education faculties (A*MIDEX Academy of Excellence 2017) led by Hélène CHENEVAL-ARMAND and Jérémy CASTERA.

The seminar jointly organized by the ANRT and the team of the Training Artefact program of the ADEF laboratory proposed a reflection on the design and use of artifacts conceived in a perspective of ludification of teaching contents. It is based on two projects EGRESS and Artefac, developed by the team.

  • The EGRESS project "Educational Game about Randomness & Evolution for Students in Science "N° ANR-18-CE28-0007-01) focuses on the teaching and learning of the theory of evolution, with a particular attention on the concept of randomness. In particular, it aims at designing a board game with an augmented reality extension, which middle school teachers can use in class with their students (aged 12 to 15).
  • The ARTE-fac project "Augmented Reality for Teacher Education faculties (A*MIDEX Academy of Excellence 2017) aims to develop a web-based solution allowing teachers and trainers to create educational scenarios accessible to students via smartphones or tablets. These scenarios integrate multimodal mobile technologies including Augmented Reality.

The objective of the seminar is both to allow participants to appropriate the artefacts designed in the framework of these two projects and to discuss the role of these artefacts co-constructed by a multidisciplinary collective (teachers, teacher-researchers, students and socio-economic partners) on the professional development of teachers and the learning of scientific concepts and reasoning by students in a didactic approach.

THE VILLAGE EPIC - HOW BRAINTECH REINVENTS EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES.
THURSDAY, JULY1, 2021
2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
4 - 6 Rue Berthelot, 13014 Marseille - POSSIBILITY OF ATTENDING THIS SESSION IN PERSON AND BY VIDEOCONFERENCE

The session was an opportunity to exchange with Franck TARPIN-BERNARD, Managing Director, SBT Human(s) Matter.
Summary
Under the name of BrainTech we identify technology companies that address issues related to the brain. Often coming from the world of health, they develop solutions to detect pathologies, to develop treatments or to follow the evolution of chronic diseases, be they neurological or psychiatric. Their technologies are more or less invasive and range from mobile applications to brain implants! Based on concepts derived from neuroscience in the broad sense of the term, and in particular from cognitive psychology, Braintechs have a strong potential for application in the educational field. Of course, to better manage learners with learning disabilities in an inclusive approach, but also more broadly to change teaching methods and better take into account the functioning of this mysterious organ that is the brain.
This session is part of the cycle of seminars organized by theANRT in the framework of the Ampiric project. It will also be an opportunity to discover the new projects that Ampiric has in store for you in partnership with the Épopée Village.
