The AMUtech institute, dedicated to advanced materials and nanotechnologies, and STMicroelectronics, one of the world's leading microelectronics companies, have just launched a five-year partnership chair entitled "Advanced materials and systems for micro and nanoelectronics.
Capitalizing on the synergy between the physics and chemistry laboratories of Aix-Marseille University, which was implemented with the creation of AMUtech in January 2021, and the presence of STMicroelectronics on our territory, this chair aims to develop research and training on advanced materials for applications in the field of micro and nanoelectronics.
In a strategic industry and in the face of increasing demand for semiconductors, innovation is more important than ever. This is the context in which the AMUtech/ST partnership chair is being established. To meet these challenges, it will be able to bring even more innovation and differentiation to its products through the introduction of new materials. It will also draw on the diversity of technical skills and training courses available in our area, with the integration of university courses focused on advanced materials for micro and nanoelectronics, at Bachelor's and especially Master's level, in the regional microelectronics campus, I-NOVMICRO.
