The monitoring and evaluation system (DSE), at the heart of AMPIRIC's management, aims to objectivize the effects of the organizations, approaches and teaching tools implemented on student learning and the methods deployed. The aim is to assess the impact and measure the effectiveness of teaching and training systems and methods, as well as collaborative research involving teachers, trainers and researchers, in order to evaluate the overall effects of strengthening the links between these different players. The effectiveness of the Pole's actions will be assessed in quantitative and qualitative terms. A diagnostic evaluation will be carried out at the beginning of the project (t+0 to t+1) in order to establish a database that will make it possible to define the initial situation.

The Operational Group of the DSE, in collaboration with the CSE (Scientific and Evaluation Council), is in charge during the same period of time of building the evaluation tools, methodologies and protocols that will be used during the whole project. A research engineer is assigned to these tasks within AMPIRIC. The setting up of a longitudinal and continuous follow-up of pupils and students who are going to become teachers will allow the collection of reliable and shared data on the progress of the project, the realization of the actions (assessed through their efficiency) and the achievement of the assigned objectives.

2. Principles of action
The monitoring and evaluation system is the main tool for steering the cluster. Its objective is to provide the necessary data, at each level of the project, for information and decision making in a regulatory perspective.
In order to problematize its evaluative action, the DSE has adopted a central evaluative question structuring its evaluation work: To what extent does the articulation between the actions carried out in AMPIRIC significantly modify teaching practices so as to improve pupils' learning of fundamental knowledge?
The DSE favours the use of mixed quantitative, qualitative and participatory methodologies.
It also supports the various projects conducted within AMPIRIC in the development of their own evaluation process and integrates the results into the overall evaluation of AMPIRIC that it conducts.
Axes of the monitoring and evaluation system
The evaluation and monitoring of the AMPIRIC project will be carried out in three areas:
- Axis 1: Longitudinal evaluation of the impact of the actions on the performance of pupils in terms of learning basic skills.
- Axis 2: Longitudinal evaluation of the evolution of the professionalism of the students in training for the teaching profession and the teachers participating in the project's actions.
- Axis 3: Collection and putting into perspective of the evaluations of all the activities deployed in each of the actions.
