France 2030 - Atypie Friendly Project

Tuile Atypie Friendly

Part of the National Strategy for Autism (2018-2028) and selected by the France 2030 Program (formerly PIA) in 2018, the "Building an Atypie-Friendly University" project engages universities in the global inclusion of students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) without intellectual disabilities.

The aim is to improve their inclusion in higher education and support them towards social and professional integration.
The project began in 2018 and will run for 10 years. It tries to address all issues from working with national education partners, upstream of university entry, through educational adaptation, digital tools, social support and training, to social and professional insertion.
Throughout the university career of students with TND, a reference person will be designated to accompany them, and tools will be offered to facilitate the transition and adaptation of each student. Atypie-Friendly works to propose the most appropriate accommodations for each situation, depending on the context and the institution concerned.

The Atypie-Friendly project currently involves some 25 partner establishments in France.
Each of these establishments is committed to the inclusion and support of TND students on their premises. On site, there are local referents as well as pedagogical managers who can help and guide students throughout their university career.
It's a real team effort between all the establishments united around a single common goal: the academic and professional success of TND students.

Several working groups illustrate the project's actions:

- Transition to university
- Professional integration
- Digital tools
- Pedagogical innovation
- Autism training
- Daily life and social support
- Impact assessment

A number of tools are available for people with autism and their carers. You can find them on the official Atypie Friendly website: https: //atypie-friendly.fr/
