CHAIRS OF EXCELLENCE 2021 - CALL FOR PROJECTS CLOSED

Introduction and objectives of the call for projects

In accordance with the new roadmap 3.0 of the A*MIDEX Excellence Initiative (2021-2024), the A*Midex Foundation is launching of its fifth call on the Chairs of Excellence program. The ambition of Aix-Marseille University and its partners, through this program, is to attract to the Aix-Marseille site outstanding teachers, teacher-researchers and researchers of international standing on structuring projects contributing to the strategy of the University and its partners.

The overall goals of the Chairs of Excellence are to :

  • Enable the Aix-Marseille site to conduct strategic recruitment on external scientific/pedagogical profiles, capable of leading innovative projects (research, pedagogy), carrying new themes, or strengthening the excellence of the site on a theme;
  • Recruiting profiles of teachers, teacher-researchers and researchers excellent/high-level on the Aix-Marseille site, with the capacity to obtain a ERC on the Aix-Marseille site within the next 5 years ;
  • Attract and recruit ERC laureates to the site  (ERC laureate specific component)
  • More long-term impact by promoting further stabilization. For teacher and researcher profiles, this requires a real integration from the beginning, through teaching in particular, through an appropriation of the project by the component and the research unit, and by guaranteeing upstream opportunities for stabilization before the end of the project or at the end of it. For researcher/researchers profiles, support, particularly for EPST competitions, will have to be provided by the research unit.
  • Fostering the academic careers of teachers, teacher-scholars, and researchers with disabilities
