The material assistance provided by Aix-Marseille University and coordinated by the International Relations Office has reached Beirut, whose port and surroundings were devastated by terrible explosions last summer.

The news of the tragedy that occurred in Beirut on August 4, 2020 had raised an outpouring of solidarity from AMU, which  mobilized to help the Lebanese university community.

In addition to the exemption of the Lebanese students from the academic registration fees of the year 2020/2021, the IRO, DEPIL and DOSI of AMU also orchestrated, hand in hand with the CMA CGM Foundation and CEVA Logistics, the delivery of 3 large shipping containers, full of computer hardwares and kitchen equipment, intended to support the academic activities of Lebanese universities.

On March 24, the Lebanese Armed Forces started to unload the content of this humanitarian donation. More than 150 computers, tables, worktops and other appliances were received by the three Lebanese universities members of the Téthys consortium - the Lebanese University, St Joseph University and Antonine University.
