At the dawn of a very fruitful period of launching new calls, in line with the new A*Midex roadmap (2021-2024), here is a summary of ongoing and upcoming A*Midex calls.
Call for Incubator of Excellence
The A*Midex Foundation is launching onSeptember 16,2021 its new call for projects "Pépinière d'excellence", intended to promote research of excellence, both disciplinary and interdisciplinary, on the Aix-Marseille site. This call is intended to strengthen thecapacity of teams to respond to national and internationalcalls for projects.
The call for projects Pépinière d'excellence targets 2 types of beneficiaries:
- First-time applicants/young researchers, teacher-researchers and university hospital staff
- Research units (UMR and UR) that have not obtained A*Midex, ANR or H2020 projects
An information webinar, aimed at presenting the call for proposals and answering questions, will be held on Monday27 September from 10:00 amto 12:00 pm by videoconference.
Interdisciplinarity call
The A*Midex foundation is launching onNovember 8,2021 its new call for Interdisciplinarity projects to promote interdisciplinarity throughout the site. This call isexclusively dedicated to the institutes of establishment, itwill be complementary to the institutes' own actions, it is open to all scientific fields and all interdisciplinary themes addressed by the institutes.
Each institute encourages the emergence of projects within its thematic perimeter and pre-selects a maximum of 2 to 3 projects that it submits to A*MIDEX for final selection.
Presentation of the main lines of the call for Interdisciplinarity projects during the meeting of the Institutes onSeptember24thfrom 10am to 12pm.
Launch of the Academy of Excellence 2021-2023 program (4 calls for projects)
- The call for projects "Multilingualism: transformation of curricula in foreign languages" aims to increase the number of courses offered in foreign languages on the site.
Provisional launch: 18 October 2021 for a start of actions in September 2022.
Next calls for projects to come from 2022 onwards:
- Call for projects "Mobility and hybridization of training": launch in September 2022
- Call for projects "Taking into account the Sustainable Development Objectives in training": launch in September 2022
- Call for projects "Reorientation of students through the creation of gateways": launch in September 2023
Transfer Programme - The next key dates
The "Transfer" calls for projects (2020-2023) aim to encourage the development of relationships between research institutions and actors from the business world, culture and civil society.
The next key dates are the following:
- AAP1 -Emergence of new collaborations: applications open continuously until 31 August 2023
- AAP2 -Start-up partnerships: nextopening (Wave 3): October 2021
- AAP3 - Partnership with the socio-economic and cultural world: next opening (Wave 2): January 2022
- AAP4 - Engineering and setting up of European projects: applications open continuously until 22 December 2023

Chairs of Excellence
The call for targeted projects and the call for direct applications are open untilSeptember 30,2021 (continuous applications for ERC laureates) and are intended for researchers, teacher-researchers, teachers and professors. The aim is to attract and retain exceptional talent for research and teaching projects on the Aix-Marseille site. The call for proposals includes salary support and funding for a favourable environment.
Civis3i
Call for applications open untilOctober 22,2022 for post-doctoral fellows in incoming mobility. CIVIS3i aims to promote the attraction, mobility and training of post-doctoral students at the CIVIS level for intersectoral, international and interdisciplinary projects.
