The AMPIRIC 2022-2023 seminar cycle is launched!

DIRCOM-Cycle-2-ampiric

After a cycle focused on the fundamental skills of writing, reading, reasoning, counting and respecting others, the AMPIRIC* pilot center is opening a cycle of seminars in 2022-2023 that will examine the learning of fundamental skills in specific contexts.

In particular, the role of psychosocial and environmental factors in student performance will be interrogated:

- What does the research tell us about the associations between sports participation and academic performance in children and adolescents?
- What is the impact of flexible classroom arrangements in middle school and the implementation of cooperative islands on learning to reason and on well-being?
- How does music and/or choral practice indirectly improve cognitive and language skills?
- Empathy and creativity... Are these keywords or key skills?
- How can we understand public policies, youth practices and pedagogical and educational uses related to citizenship in a digital context?

These are some of the questions that will be addressed in each seminar of the cycle, in order to show the research dynamics at the heart of AMPIRIC, based on a concrete case of a project (finalized, in progress, or to be submitted), to put into perspective the current research in the field of education research, in relation to the specific context in question, and to dialogue with researchers, teachers, students, national education staff and teacher training colleagues.

Organization: each seminar, lasting 2h30, is organized in face-to-face and distance learning (hybrid mode), upon registration.

*AMPIRIC (Aix-Marseille - Pôle d'Innovation, de Recherche, d'Enseignement pour l'Education) is a pilot project aiming at improving the learning of fundamental knowledge of students throughout their school career, especially those who are in difficulty. AMPIRIC is based on the development of innovative research to better inform the evolution of initial and continuing teacher training, and to develop, experiment with and disseminate new pedagogical approaches.
Coordinated by Aix-Marseille Université, AMPIRIC is part of the France 2030 government investment program and is conducted in partnership with the Aix-Marseille Academy, Avignon University (AU) and the Université Côte d'Azur (UNS), the CNRS, the National Association for Research and Technology (ANRT), the Canopé Network, and the Southern Region.
The project is a winner of the call for proposals for the "Pôle Pilote de formation et de recherche en éducation" (Pilot training and research center in education) of the PIA3's Territoires d'Innovation Pédagogique (Pedagogical Innovation Territories) program. It is financed by the Caisse des dépôts et des Consignations for a period of 10 years (2020-2030).
