Chaires d'Excellence 2023 - Targeted call for projects

As part of action area 2 "Training, attracting and supporting TALENTS" of its roadmap 3.0 (2021-2024), the A*Midex foundation is launching the 7th call for the "Chaire d'Excellence" program.
Through this program, A*Midex aims to recruit and promote the academic careers of internationally-renowned professors, lecturers and researchers, on structuring projects contributing to the strategy of the Aix-Marseille site.

General objectives

Enable the Aix-Marseille site to conduct strategic recruitment of external scientific/educational profiles.
Recruit high-level researchers or teacher-researchers on the Aix-Marseille site, with the capacity to obtain an ERC on the Aix-Marseille site within the next 5 years.
Attract and recruit ERC winners to the site.
Amplify long-term impact by encouraging subsequent stabilization.
Promote the academic careers of teaching and research staff with disabilities.

Specific objectives of the targeted call for projects

The targeted call for projects is aimed at the site's research units, components or schools , to enable them to attract and stabilize internationally-renowned scientific and teaching talent on the Aix-Marseille site.

Target audience

The Chairs of Excellence program is aimed at teachers, teacher-researchers and researchers from outside the Aix-Marseille site.

Who can apply?

Projects must be submitted by a director of a research unit at the Aix-Marseille University site (or at least a research team); a director of a component or school (Centrale Marseille, Sciences-po Aix), or a training department.

What does the Chair of Excellence call for projects fund?

A*Midex can cover the salary of the Chair's Scientific and Technical Manager (fixed-term contract as a teacher-researcher or researcher) and an environment budget of up to €200k per year for 3 years (excluding the salary of the Scientific and Technical Manager). The environmental budget may include payroll, operating and investment costs.
