Watch sounds

Classes from the 6th grade onwards

Sound is a physical phenomenon that we will try to explain using simulations and simple experiments. We will playfully link physical terms such as "frequency", "amplitude", "sinusoid", to their equivalents in everyday language. We will explain the notion of timbre, first by building with the help of a computer and a program accessible to all different complex sounds, then by analyzing your voice or a musical instrument you have brought. Finally, we will quickly explain how Pythagoras in the 6th century BC had already created a range that, almost everywhere, is still used to compose music.
