From taste buds to the brain

Designing
Estelle Nakul, PhD student at the Laboratory of Integrative and Adaptive Neurosciences (LNIA)

Classes from the 6th grade onwards

In this workshop, the students question themselves on the perception of taste. They themselves create experiments to test the influence of different senses, such as sight or smell, on the perception of taste. They cover notions about the anatomy and functioning of the brain as well as study techniques in neuroscience. They discover scientific experiments similar to those they will have carried out during the workshop. Through the example of taste, they understand how the brain builds perceptions: they discover the influence of the senses on each other, as well as the impact of other factors such as memory, habits or advertising.
