History of metallurgy and current research on the metallurgy of materials used in both transport and photovoltaic panels.

In the first part of the workshop, a new perspective on the history of human progress in metallurgy will be proposed to show the solutions found by men since the earliest times.
In the second part, starting from the observation that the aluminium and steel industry has long since found solutions that enable it to produce these materials, the question will be asked about the place of sometimes even fundamental research in this field.
The last part will then present our current research in metallurgy and in particular concerning the solidification of metallic materials used for means of transport.
During the intervention, the different facets of the research profession and the variety of professions present in a research laboratory will be presented. The intervention will be in the form of a conference illustrated by some experiments and presentations of objects.
