Assistantship programs

assistanat-lectorat

Language assistant programmes contribute to student mobility on a European and global scale. They offer a training opportunity and the beginning of professionalization. They also improve their pedagogical and linguistic skills. This is a real added value to their university career.

The role of the assistant is to improve the students' communication skills, especially oral communication skills, and to deepen their knowledge of French civilization and culture. He works in support of French teachers and can intervene in the whole class in their presence or take small groups of students apart. It is for him a first professional experience and a complement to his training.

Wellesley College Program

The assistant will be responsible for 8 hours of weekly support in French (in the form of hours of permanence) and partly to animate activities at the Maison Française, where he is housed as part of the program. In return, the assistant receives a monthly salary for 9 months.

He is also exempt from tuition fees for courses taken at Wellesley College or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with which Wellesley College is a partner. Participation in some courses will allow them to validate ECTS credits for their studies at Aix-Marseille University.
