Scientifica #2

Scientifica #2 aura lieu les 16 et 17 juin 2023 au Cube à Aix-en-Provence

The Arts, Cultures & Sciences section of Mission Interdisciplinarité(s) is offering two days of events as part of the second edition of Scientifica.

After a first "pilot" edition of this event dedicated to the arts/sciences encounter and organized by the Interdisciplinarité(s) mission in 2022, Scientifica #2 will be held over two days and will present projects/productions proposed by a diversity of laboratories, components and structures of Aix Marseille Université.

June 16 & 17, 2023 - Aix-en-Provence - Le Cube - Campus Schuman

For two days, Scientifica #2 will open the doors of the Schuman campus in Aix-en-Provence and present arts/sciences productions and projects in a participative and interactive way, aimed at students, the general public and specific audiences. This year, Scientifica is focusing on thematic entries: the sea, light, the environment, human/non-human, the world of tomorrow...

The aim is to arouse curiosity and challenge visitors to consider the aesthetic dimension of scientific productions and the scientific dimension of aesthetic productions. Different sectors (human and social sciences, experimental sciences, art sciences, etc.) take part in this original exchange, which takes artists, researchers and audiences off the beaten track. As with the first edition, Scientifica #2 will also feature: meetings with artists, researchers and students.es; highlights including new, immersive experiences and interactive installations; a focus on research/creation and arts/sciences theses; participatory mediations designed for different audiences; video screenings of arts/sciences projects/productions; a small salon with a playlist prepared by Arte Campus; unexpected sound programming; a space for collective reflection on society through the prism of art, thanks to the Ecole d'été project; moments of conviviality, and more.

You can immerse yourself in the sea with Océan, a space featuring audio-visual installations by Oksana Chepelyk, explore the relationship between the seabed and the surface with works by Noëmie Sauve, Camille Pradon, Laura Martin Person, Églantine Rousset, Javiera Tejerina and Nicolas Floch, and discover the sea in the history of art in the participative workshop of the Biodivaquart project.

You can also explore the boundaries between human and non-human by discovering how a parrot can do its shopping on the internet, assisted by Alexa, in She was called Petra, by Damien Beyrouthy, or let yourself be enchanted by the exhibition The Art of Science or the Ethnomimétisme project.

Play a laser harp and hear the Amazon rainforest in Benjamin Just's work, supported by the MAS platform and the Acoustic Mechanics Laboratory...

...and much more!

By bus

  • From Marseille: The N° 50 "Le CAR" shuttle bus runs regularly between Marseille and Aix-en-Provence.
  • From downtown Aix (and the SNCF train station), take the Aixpress line A bus to the "Schuman" stop (in front of the ALLSH faculty entrance). Le Cube is the third large building on your right (see the Aix-en-Provence transport services website: Aix en bus or the city of Aix-en-Provence website, section: Déplacements-Transport).

By car: Parking is difficult around the ALLSH faculty (the university parking lot is not accessible). You can park at the Krypton parking lot. By freeway: exit 30 or 30b "Pont de l'Arc" then take the Aixpress bus line A or walk 10 minutes.
