Grant for scientific culture projects 2021: 13 winning projects!

For its third edition, the grant for scientific culture projects of Aix-Marseille University has received 23 candidate-projects, from various disciplinary fields, for a total budget of 30 000€. The selection committee chose 13 projects that will be carried out in 2021 by research structures of the university.

Created in 2019, the Grant for scientific culture projects is aimed at research structures with a research dissemination project. Its objective is to support cultural initiatives in laboratories and institutes. The winning projects are supported by the scientific culture unit (Research and Development Department).   • BathyBot
    led by the MIO (Mediterranean Institute of Oceanology)
    A virtual reality application to dive to over 2500m with the BathyBot robot in the deep ocean.

    supported by the CCJ (Centre Camille Jullian)
    A journey to discover the archaeological site of Thaenae in Tunisia.

    supported by the IRAA (Institute for Research on Ancient Architecture)

  • Music as a support to school education
    supported by the INS (Institute of Systems Neuroscience)
    Digital meetings between researchers and kindergarten and primary school teachers, complemented by a booklet illustrated by Nathalie Eyraud, to raise awareness of the role of musical practice in the development of many cognitive functions in children.

    supported by PRISM (Perceptions representations image sound music)
    An immersive experience to listen to musical pieces of the 14th century in conditions close to the public of the medieval period thanks to the reconstructed acoustics of the pontifical chapel of the Palace of the Popes of Avignon.
