Fête de l'Europe 2020 goes digital!

La Fête de l'Europe 2020 en version numérique

Throughout the month of May (known as "joli mois de l’Europe"), many events are being organised in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region to allow the public to discover and appreciate different countries and their cultures and to raise awareness of European citizenship by bringing citizens closer to Europe. This year, Aix-Marseille University has virtually joined forces with the City of Aix-en-Provence and the European Parliament Office to celebrate this event.

On the occasion of this "digital" Fête de l’Europe, the International Relations Office (DRI) and the Research and Development Department (DRV) of Aix-Marseille University have decided to put the spotlight on international students and researchers. Discover with us the feedback from international students in Erasmus + mobility and the videos of science popularisation of the researchers of the doctoral program DOC2AMU.

The Fête de l’Europe is above all an opportunity to celebrate the European Union, a key player on the international scene. Seventy years after the declaration of the then French foreign minister Robert Schuman, the European Parliament is offering a virtual exhibition on this subject.

Doc' en clip: European researchers and popularisation of science

Three young European researchers have accepted the challenge and shared via science popularisation videos their research work , their life in the labs and their reality in the field, face to face with the camera. Thanks to their stories and smiles, they help us to understand that research is above all a human adventure!

Discover the video portraits of Alexandra, Jesús and Riccardo, who are conducting their research in the labs of Aix-Marseille University, as part of an international programme called DOC2AMU.

  • Alexandra Bivolaru, a young Romanian researcher, presents her work on the evolution of the Danube Delta over the last 6000 years.
  • Jesús Diaz Sanz, a young Spanish researcher, tells us about his thesis on urban soil.
  • Riccardo Catalano, a young Italian researcher, shares his research on the risk associated with nanoparticles in sunscreen lotions.
