The Institut SoMuM will cover the travel expenses of the selected Aix-Marseille Université students.
The aim of this thematic school is to provide multi-disciplinary training in the methodological, theoretical and ethical issues involved in high-risk fields in the social sciences. Starting from the case of Syria, with a view to extending our thinking to the Middle East (Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen), we aim to tackle the following four main themes:
- working with extreme violence: investigating and writing ;
- ethics of social science research ;
- archives in exile: collection, processing, storage and disclosure;
- narratives of others versus narratives of self.
Target audience: PhD students from the Institut SoMuM perimeter(ED 354, ED 355, ED 67).
