The Mutualité Française Sud is organising, in partnership with the sustainable development department of Aix Marseille University, an interactive Bio-sphere conference "Energy: towards the end of oil" on 24 September.
This free conference, open to all on registration, will address the issues of energy transition:
From coal to oil, from hydraulics to nuclear power, we have had an enchanted but temporary break in human history: that of abundant and cheap energy. However, these energies are polluting, emit high levels of greenhouse gases and constitute a limited resource. As fossil fuels are running out, nuclear energy is showing its limits and renewable energy is not yet delivering on all its promises, we are facing a complex and unprecedented challenge today: that of designing a blueprint for tomorrow's energy transition.
During this interactive conference, a problem is raised. Participants are then invited to communicate their opinions using voting boxes. The results are processed in real time and immediately displayed on a giant screen!
