As the largest French-speaking university with more than 80,000 students, including more than 10,000 international students each year, it is only natural that Aix-Marseille Université should host this year's 8th edition of the International Student Welcome Conference organized by Campus France on May 18 and 19, 2022. The university will be represented by Eric Berton, President of Aix-Marseille Université, Giovanna Chimini, Vice-President in charge of international relations, Christine Logier, Director of International Relations, and Emilie Delaval, Director of the Welcome and Attractiveness Unit.

Student mobility is a central theme for Aix-Marseille Université, which claims to be open to the world and recognized on the international scene, thanks in particular to the creation of the CIVIS European University, created in partnership with nine other universities. The range of courses offered is structured around three strong principles: interdisciplinarity, double courses and internationalism. It offers incoming students exceptional opportunities for intercultural and educational exchanges, in addition to unfailing support from the International Relations Department. The confidence shown by Campus France in hosting this conference is a reflection of the university's dynamism in welcoming international students.

More than 400 representatives of higher education institutions and local partners (managers and staff of international relations departments, tuition services, student life services, local authorities, etc.) will meet on the Schuman site of the Aix-en-Provence campus to discuss international mobility issues during plenary sessions and workshops. New themes will be proposed this year, such as the training of institutional staff, health and the integration of international students.

As part of the conference and following the presentation of the Territorial Mobility Observatory study on May 19 from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm, Campus France is organizing a press luncheon to encourage exchanges between journalists and the study's authors.
