On May 21, 2021, the city of Marseille will host the 1st International Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Marseille (FIIAM), co-organized by Aix-Marseille Université (AMU), the Ministerial Delegation for Artificial Intelligence (DMIA) of the French Ministry of the Interior and the Francophone Agency for Artificial Intelligence (AFRIA).

It is clear that artificial intelligence is becoming more and more important in our lives.
Its development is becoming an integral part of public policy at the global level.

On April 21, the European Commission unveiled the first legal framework within the European Union, reaffirming the strategic importance of AI for Europe and the need to regulate its use in the various sectors of application, while preventing the risks inherent in these technologies. Together, we need to prepare the young generations for these future jobs by creating innovative training courses in AI (from the second year to the Masters in AI). New skills are needed to meet the collective global challenges of AI if we want to move towards a "trusted AI" as proposed by the European Union (REIA).

This international forum will examine the various issues without giving up on the complexity of the societal choices required to meet the collective global challenges of AI in a democratic and informed manner.

An exceptional program will present about thirty short conferences giving way to debate led by speakers of very high level and expertise. The 6 round tables are open to the public and will be broadcast live via the platform: https://app.livestorm.co/fiiam.

FIIAM will give the floor to several AI actors in the world, in order to take stock of the major advances in the academic world, government initiatives and the ambitions of the public and private sector in this field. In addition to the actors of the AI ecosystem in France, several countries will be represented, including Canada, Singapore, Germany as well as many African countries.

Speeches will be direct, in the form of interventions followed by exchanges between speakers or pre-recorded.

The Prefecture of the PACA Region is associated with this major event. Mr Christophe MIRMAND, Prefect, will officially open the Forum alongside Mr Eric BERTON, President of Aix-Marseille Université and Mr Romain LAFFONT, Co-President of FIIAM (Vice-President of Aix-Marseille Université).
