CFMI - Centre de formation des musiciens intervenants

1. Presentation

The mission of the Centre de Formation de Musiciens Intervenants de l'Université d'Aix-Marseille is to provide higher professional training to musicians who already have a solid artistic background. This university and professional training course has 1500 hours spread over two years. It is validated by the University Diploma of Musicians Speakers (DUMI) allowing access to the employment framework of Specialized Assistant of Artistic Education (ASEA) of the Territorial Public Service. The musicians who hold the DUMI promote a privileged link between the school environment (elementary and pre-elementary school) and the cultural and artistic context of a territory (broadcasting structures, festivals, hospitals, prisons, etc.) through the implementation of medium- or long-term musical projects that they are able to design and carry out in a spirit of open and structured partnership.

This requires the acquisition of various skills, both in the musical field (conducting vocal and instrumental ensembles, interpretation, creation, accompaniment and arrangement techniques, extended musical culture, etc.) and in pedagogy (project design and implementation). This also requires a detailed knowledge of the educational environment, as well as a reflection on the conditions under which this profession is carried out.
