Academy of Excellence Programme: launch of the "Multilingualism" call for projects

The framework text of the call for projects to be downloaded provides full information.

Within the framework of action area 2 " Training, attraction and support of TALENTS " of its roadmap 3.0 (2021-2024), the A*Midex foundation launches its call for projects Multilingualism: courses delivered in a foreign language

Objectives

  • To increase the number of courses offered in foreign languages on the site
  • To respond to the need for internationalization of training courses in order to: promote the mastery of languages by students, facilitate and increase the potential for hosting foreign students on site, and encourage international collaborations.

  • Organization of a webinar on November 08, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:30 am by videoconference. Prior registration to receive the connection link before November 06, 2021 on this link.

 

Target audience

The program is aimed at the educational teams of the training courses. They will designate a Scientific and Technical Manager who must be a full professor from the Aix-Marseille site attached to an AMU component, to Science Po Aix or to Centrale Marseille or a full researcher attached to an EPST on the Aix-Marseille site.

 

Type of projects supported

The projects supported propose the transformation of an existing curriculum, not its duplication, nor the creation of a new foreign language curriculum.

What does the AAP Multilingualism, Foreign Language Curriculum fund ?

The A*Midex funding will allow teaching teams to finance different types of actions according to the needs identified. The project may include expenses related to

  • The transformation of their courses into foreign languages,
  • The development of the teachers-researchers involved,
  • The training of teachers and students,
  • Communication about the foreign language curriculum.

These types of expenses are detailed in the framework text (link).

This call for proposals is intended to finance mainly payroll and operating expenses. The funding granted may be between 25,000 euros and 100,000 euros for a maximum duration of 3 academic years (2022 - 2025).

 

Timetable

  • Declarations of intent (stage 1) must be submitted by 17 December 2021, noon (Paris).
  • Submission of the complete application file by February 28, 2021 noon (Paris).
  • Communication of results: June 2022.
  • Provisional start of the projects from September 2022.
  • The detailed timetable of the stages is included in the framing text of the call for projects.

 

How to apply?

The application is made via the A*Midex project submission platform https://amidex-aap.univ-amu.fr/ in two steps:

- Step 1: Declarations of intent

The declaration of intent is a MANDATORY step in the process. However, it is not subject to selection.

Applicants are invited to click on the "APPLY FOR A PROJECT" button available on the application platform. They connect, with their login and password ENT, on their application space. At the end of step 1 at the latest, they must complete the fields indicated on the form. Candidates from Science Po and Centrale, will have to contact the A*Midex Foundation (mail Hélène) to obtain identifiers.

The deadline for the declaration of intent is from October 18, 2021 to December 17, 2021 at noon (12:00) Paris time.

- Step 2 : Complete project proposals

At this stage, the applicants provide a complete file presenting their project (activities and budget). This file will be submitted for analysis and evaluation. As the evaluation will be carried out by two experts, one of whom will be an international expert, the application documents must be completed in English.

From the opening date of stage 2, applicants who have submitted a first intention are then invited to submit their complete file at the latest at the end of stage 2 by clicking on "STATUS OF MY PROJECTS" and transferring to their project space :

- The completed application form.

- The project budget.

- The annexes. Attention: some annexes are compulsory.

In order to submit the application form, you must click on the "submit" button at the bottom right of the application form. The status of the application will change from "open" to "submitted" once the application has been submitted. No additions will be possible after the closing of the submission platform at the indicated deadline

 The deadline for submission of the complete application file is February 28, 2022, noon (12:00) Paris time.
