IMéRA - The Institute of Advanced Studies of Aix-Marseille

Founded by the University of Aix-Marseille, IMéRA is an Institute of Advanced Studies. As such, it is a member of the French Network of Institutes of Advanced Studies (RFIEA) and the European Network of Institutes of Advanced Studies (NETIAS, EURIAS programme).

IMéRA welcomes researchers and artists in residence (between 3 and 12 months depending on the calls for applications) and a few multidisciplinary teams with a collective project for short stays. Residents carry out their own research projects in collaboration with teams and laboratories in Aix-Marseille.

The research hosted at IMéRA develops interactions between human and social sciences (SHS), between sciences, between SHS and exact, experimental and health sciences, as well as between arts and sciences. They explore and develop the spaces that can open up between disciplines, and the new objects that can be created within them.

IMéRA aims to contribute to the emergence and development of world-class interdisciplinary research approaches, and to the preparation of young researchers for these approaches, on the territory of the University of Aix-Marseille.

IMéRA is also keen to host projects that could focus on Mediterranean territories or be submitted by Mediterranean researchers.
