MITACS and AMU fund research mobilities to Canada

Aix-Marseille University supports international student mobility and scientific cooperation between laboratories and universities. To this end, an agreement has been signed with the MITACS agency to finance research internships in Canada for master's students, doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows.

Mitacs Research Internship

Mitacs is a Canadian non-profit organizationthat supports research and training programs in Canada in collaboration with 70 Canadian universities, 6,000 companies and the Canadian government.

Thanks to the agreement signed with Aix-Marseille University, master's students, doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows from all AMU components can apply for one of the following grants

  • The Globalink Research Intership (GRI) scholarship (Master 1 students)
  • The Global Research Award (GRA ) (Master students, PhD students and post-doctoral fellows)

Globalink Research Internship (GRI)

The Globalink Research Internship funds 12-week research stays in Canada between May and October for Master 1 students.

All internship opportunities are identified by Mitacs at Canadian universities. Applications must be made on the Mitacs website via a project matched with a professor and a university inCanada.

If your application is selected, travel and living expenses will be covered by the program as well as additional costs (specific fees requested by the host institution, social security...).

Globalink Research Award (GRA)

The Global Research Award funds internships or research stays of 12 to 24 weeks in Canada for master's students, doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows.

Projects led by an AMU researcher or teacher-researcher and a professor from a Canadian university are eligible. Each project may involve up to 5 students, PhD students or post-doctoral fellows traveling between Canada and AMU.

If your application is selected, the funding amounts to $6,000 CAD for the entire stay, regardless of the duration.
