The DAEU is a national diploma that gives the same rights as the baccalauréat, particularly in terms of access to higher education and to category B administrative competitions (Decree n°94-684 of 3 August 1994, OJ of 10 August 1994). It is approved at level IV of the interministerial nomenclature of training levels.

There is the DAEU A literary and DAEU B scientific. This training is intended for non-baccalaureate holders and has various aims:
- Acquire a level of general culture of the final class of high schools
- To give access to higher education in Humanities, Law...
- To be able to participate in category B competitions where the baccalaureate is essential.

DAEU "Intensive" literary option and scientific option
There is a full-time intensive training course which allows trainees to receive remuneration from the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur regional council, which also covers the training costs. This training is given in Aix-en-Provence, Gap and St Jérôme.

1. Target groups
This course is aimed at job seekers without a baccalaureate, employees or job seekers covered by Cap Emploi.
To allow the trainees :
- To acquire a level of general culture of the final class of high schools
- To give access to higher education
- To pass the B category competitions for which the baccalaureate is essential
2. Conditions of access
To justify on October 1st of the year of the examination:
- Êbe at least 20 years old
- have interrupted their initial studies for at least two years
- To have exercised two years of professional activity giving rise to social security contributions
The following are automatically considered as professional activities
- The exercise of a high level sporting activity
- Raising a child
- National service
- Registration with the Pôle Emploi
- Participation in a vocational training scheme for young people seeking employment or a qualification and being at least 24 years old on 1 October of the year of the examination.
For people who are at least 24 years old on October 1st of the year of the exam, no condition is required.
3. How to register
Attention outside the COVID-19 period: each year selection tests are held for entry into the course and are compulsory. For the DAEU Classic, these take place at the end of May for the following academic year and for the DAEU Intensive they take place in December.

DAEU Classique A and B: selection tests dates to come on the sites of Marseille St Charles or Aix en Provence.

Please note that the DAEU B is not offered at the Marseille St Jérome site.

Candidates who wish to follow the DAEU A courses on the St Jérôme site must take the tests on the St Charles site.

5. Tariff and Financing
The cost of the course is 3104 euros and the national registration fee is 170 euros (subject to change).
The cost of the course and/or registration at the university can be partially or fully financed by :
- Regional Council: the procedures will be carried out by the University subject to the documents that you will have provided us.
- Operators of skills OPCO
- Employer
Candidates who do not benefit from any financial support can be exempted from part of the training fees on request.

6. Social action for continuing education
All trainees in continuing professional education can benefit from specific support services throughout their training.
Personalized support in the form of a helping relationship (sophrology) and workshops is offered by a sophrologist.
In addition, AMU offers the services of a social worker if necessary. She is also the Disability Referral Officer for all continuing education students with disabilities.
