The faculty stands out at national and European level for the quality of its masters and research, for its strong industrial partnerships through its two laboratories and 4 chairs, for its proximity to the world of sport and for its personalized offer for top-level athletes. The faculty's research master's degree and doctoral school of human movement sciences are based on the Etienne-Jules Marey research institute, which is a joint research unit combining the university and the CNRS.

The management sector also confirms its policy of excellence through a partnership with the Institute of Political Studies of Aix-en-Provence and the creation of the "SPORT MG" laboratory (management, governance, performance). These laboratories will contribute to the development of an innovation space ". Technosport", recent winner of the national operation "Plan Campus". This centre will bring together mass, training, health and high-performance practices on the Luminy Campus. Within it, research and training will be developed in line with economic and social demands.
