Aix-Marseille University's CISAM+ project wins the "ExcellencEs" call for projects (PIA 4)

The Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Ms. Frédérique Vidal, announced this morning the winners of the "ExcellencEs" call for projects under the PIA 4. We are proud to inform you that the CISAM+ project, led by Aix-Marseille University (AMU), is the winner with a grant of 40 million euros, the largest of all the selected projects.

The winning CISAM+ project is part of the continuity of the Cité de l'Innovation et des Savoirs d'Aix-Marseille (CISAM), an emblematic and salient place for innovation in the territory; launched in 2018. This announcement confirms the relevance of this high-potential facility to respond, through innovation, to the social, environmental, economic and health challenges facing society.

"We are convinced at AMU that technological innovation is inseparable from societal innovation. It must be both sustainable and inclusive. More than ever, Aix-Marseille University, as an actor in a social and societal project, has a duty to have a positive impact on society," declared Éric Berton, President of Aix-Marseille University.
