A year to master French, understand the French university and successfully complete your degree at Aix Marseille Université.

Presentation of the program


What is Classes Internationales?

This is an innovative integration program for international students wishing to pursue their higher education in France, at Aix Marseille Université (amU). These students benefit from a preparatory year allowing them to acquire certain knowledge and skills necessary for the subsequent integration of a bachelor’s degree at amU, taught in French.

-> Preparatory year 

This includes:
Intensive French courses and immersive cultural activities to discover the French life and codes
> 20 hours/week
> Within the University Language Service - SUL
⮕ Introductory disciplinary courses as well as methodological courses to facilitate integration in the first year of the bachelor’s degree: 
> 5 per week
> Within the faculty offering the chosen degree

-> Pre-admission to the Bachelor’s program

The program provides privileged access to some of our degrees within the Faculty of Sciences (FDS), the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEG) and the Faculty of Law and Political Science (FDSP). 

Here are the courses open to students in International Classes:  
•  Bachelor’s degree in Sciences
•  Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management
•  Bachelor's in Law
•  CMI - Engineering Degree in Environment (5-year engineering degree, with post-Bac admission) 

-> Who is this program for?

International Classes are intended for international students* from India, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya, having a level of French A2 and thus requiring additional language preparation before taking a degree taught in French

* High school students and people of all ages wishing to resume higher education, at a bachelor level.

Welcome and support services


As part of this program, students benefit from a wide range of personalized services offered by the International Student Welcome Team of the university’s International Relations Office (DRI).

A single room is pre-booked for students in one of the CROUS university residences in Aix-en-Provence (about €275/month, available only for the preparatory year and subject to completing the required formalities within the deadline).

Upon their arrival in France, students are offered airport reception and transport to their accommodation, as well as reception and integration activities to allow them to meet other students, to familiarize themselves with their new campus and to discover the region and its heritage

They also benefit from personalized support before their arrival in France and throughout the duration of their studies at amU, particularly for their administrative procedures (visa, registration(s), health, banking and insurance), as well as for their installation and university life.

How to apply?


As a first step, submit your pre-application online to Campus France, via the official website of International Classes.
Then, follow the steps below, making sure you meet all the requirements:

Your complete application must be submitted before April 30, 2026 to the following email address: classes-internationales@univ-amu.fr

Please note that documents no. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are mandatory. If any of these documents are missing, the file will be considered incomplete.

Cost of studies


The tuition fees* for the preparatory year of the Classes Internationales program amount to €5,500. This amount includes the provision of language and disciplinary courses as well as reception and support services.
* Excluding housing, Student Contribution to Living and Campus tax (CVEC), and cost of living on site

For the following years of study, students must pay the registration fees* of Aix Marseille Université.
* Depending on your profile, different registration fees apply. Ask around!
