What is Classes Internationales?
-> Who is the program for?
The Classes Internationales program is designed for international students who have completed or are about to complete high school and wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree taught in French in France, at Aix Marseille Université.
It is intended for international students from the non-francophone countries and territories covered by Campus France’s “Études en France” (EEF) procedure.
-> This program is open to students residing in one of the following countries and territories:
South Africa, Algeria, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Egypt, Ecuador, United States, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Qatar, the Dominican Republic, the United Kingdom, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Vietnam.
To apply and join the program, students must demonstrate a minimum French language proficiency level of A2 by providing one of the following certificates:
-> DELF A2:
• Minimum score of 12.5/25 in the comprehension tests.
• Minimum score of 15/25 in both written and oral production tests.
-> TCF Tout Public (A2 level):
• Minimum score of 260/699 in the mandatory tests.
• Minimum score of 4/20 in each optional test.
• Both written and oral production tests must be included.
-> TEF Études (A2 level):
• Minimum score of 260/699 in each of the five tests.
• Both written and oral production tests must be included.
-> Complete beginners may take a preparatory course in their home country.

This year includes:
-> Intensive French courses and immersive cultural activities to discover the French life and codes:
- 20 hours/week
- Within the University Language Service - SUL
-> Introductory disciplinary courses as well as methodological courses to facilitate integration in the first year of the bachelor’s degree:
- 3 to 7 hours/week
- Within the faculty offering the chosen degree
-> Pre-admission to a Bachelor’s program
The program provides privileged access to some of our degrees within the Faculty of Arts, Literature, Languages, and Humanities (ALLSH), Faculty of Sciences (FDS), the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEG) and the Faculty of Law and Political Science (FDSP).
Here are the courses open to students in Classes Internationales:
• Bachelor of Arts in Applied Foreign Languages
• Bachelor of Arts in Sociology
• Bachelor of Arts in Language Science
• Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy
• Bachelor’s degree in Sciences
• CMI - Engineering Degree in Environment (5-year engineering degree, with post-Bac admission)
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management
• Bachelor's in Law
Welcome and support services
As part of this program, students benefit from a wide range of personalized services offered by the International Student Welcome Team of the university’s International Relations Office (DRI):
A single room is pre-booked for students in one of the CROUS university residences in Aix-en-Provence.
(about €275/month, available only for the preparatory year and subject to completing the required formalities within the deadline)
Upon their arrival in France, students are offered airport reception and transport to their accommodation, as well as reception and integration activities to allow them to meet other students, to familiarize themselves with their new campus and to discover the region and its heritage
They also benefit from personalized support before their arrival in France and throughout the duration of their studies at amU, particularly for their administrative procedures (visa, registration(s), health, banking and insurance), as well as for their installation and university life.

Applications for the 2027–2028 academic year of the Classes Internationales program via the Études en France procedure open on October 1, 2026. Application deadlines vary by Campus France office.

-> To apply for the Classes Internationales program at amU, the application pathway is “Études en France,” and the procedure is as follows:
- Step 1: Create a personal account on the Études en France platform;
- Step 2: Search for the Classes Internationales program in the course catalog of the platform, and select “Aix-en-Provence” in the City tab of the left-hand menu;
- Step 3: Select the Bachelor's degree program of your choice from among the various programs offered;
- Step 4: Click on the “Add to Program Cart” button;
- Step 5: Complete your application by uploading the various required documents;
- Step 6: Receive an email confirming your application submission;
- Step 7: You will then receive an email from Campus France with all the practical information you need to know about the next steps in the process.
