Aix Marseille Université offers a number of scholarships and funding schemes designed to support international students at different stages of their academic career. Whether it's the TIGER scholarship, the AMIDEX scholarship, the Eiffel scholarship or scholarships managed by Campus France, these grants aim to support academic excellence, international mobility and study projects in France. This page presents the main funding opportunities available to you, depending on your profile and your plans to study at amU.

TIGER Excellence Grant

Aix Marseille Université has made international mobility and welcoming international students a pillar of its attractiveness policy. To this end, it has set up a unique system of excellence scholarships to fund outstanding profiles from all over the world, enabling them to join the ranks of our university.

-> What are the advantages of this scholarship?

A TIGER Master's Excellence Scholarship provides you with funding, accommodation and a warm welcome:

  • amU finances you up to €10,000 for one academic year.
  • The university will reserve a room for you in a CROUS hall of residence(provided you complete the necessary formalities in goodtime).
  • It will also take care of you from the moment you arrive in France, and accompany you throughout your stay.

Please note: despite receiving a grant, non-European international students subject to differentiated fees will still have to pay these fees to enroll in the course of their choice.

Step 1 : I choose my Master's program from among the eligible programs.
Step 2 : I submit my application for the course of my choice (via the appropriate platform depending on my personal situation).
Step 3: The course coordinators review the applications and select those who will receive the scholarship.
Step 4 : I receive my admission letter.
Step 5: If I have been selected for the scholarship, I will receive my letter of award shortly afterwards.

The selection process is particularly rigorous: only candidates whose applications are judged to be excellent are selected and awarded the TIGER Master Excellence Scholarship. In the absence of notification of award, the application should be considered unsuccessful.

Amidex grant

The AMIDEX grant is designed to promote the international mobility of Aix Marseille Université students, as well as the hosting of international students within the institution. It supports internships or study periods lasting at least one month for outgoing mobility, and at least two months for incoming mobility.

Amidex scholarships are specifically designed for students in bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs in all disciplines. At present, only the following courses are eligible for Amidex Mobility Grants:

  1. Check that the course you wish to enroll in is on the list.
  2. If it is, contact the course coordinator to find out how the grant is awarded.
  3. Apply for the course (via the appropriate platform depending on your personal situation).

NB: Fondation Amidex is not involved in student selection.

Since September 2024, international students subject to differentiated fees have been exempted from up to 75% if they are recipients of an Amidex incoming mobility grant. To find out more, visit the page dedicated to differential fees.

Eiffel Bursary: call for applications 2026/2027

The Eiffel Scholarship is a scholarship of excellence for international students enrolled in degree programs.

Launched in January 1999 by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, this program aims to support the international attractiveness strategy of French higher education establishments, in a context of strong competition between countries to attract the best talent in master's, engineering and doctoral programs.

Please refer to the Campus France application guide for eligibility criteria, then fill in the contact form before 14/11/2025. Incomplete applications sent after the deadline will not be considered.

A CV, covering letter and your last three school reports will be required. Don't forget to prepare them in advance!

Please follow the steps below:

Step 1 : Contact thedoctoral school (ED) in your field of study to find out about admission requirements,
Step 2 : Find a thesis director within Aix Marseille Université,
Step 3 : Complete the registration procedures indicated on the website of each doctoral school concerned (we remind you that to be eligible for the Eiffel scholarship at doctoral level, you must be enrolled in a degree program at our university),
Step 4: Send your Aix Marseille Université thesis director all the supporting documents for the Eiffel scholarship application requested by Campus France before 14/11/2025, 17:00 (French time). You will find a list of these documents in the application guide.
