Des solutions de financements pour étudier à amU

Aix Marseille Université propose plusieurs dispositifs de bourses et financements destinés à accompagner les étudiants internationaux à différentes étapes de leur parcours académique. Qu’il s’agisse de la bourse TIGER, de la bourse AMIDEX, de la bourse Eiffel ou des bourses gérées par Campus France, ces aides visent à soutenir l’excellence académique, la mobilité internationale et les projets d’études en France.

TIGER Excellence Grant

Aix Marseille Université has made international mobility and welcoming international students a pillar of its attractiveness policy. To this end, it has set up a unique system of excellence scholarships to fund outstanding profiles from all over the world, enabling them to join the ranks of our university.

You don't need to take any specific steps to apply for this scholarship : all you need to do is submit the application form required for each master's program via the corresponding application platform. Every year, many students apply for these courses.

A TIGER Master's Excellence Scholarship provides you with funding, accommodation and a warm welcome:

  • amU finances you up to €10,000 for one academic year.
  • The university will reserve a room for you in a CROUS hall of residence(provided you complete the necessary formalities in goodtime).
  • It will also take care of you from the moment you arrive in France, and accompany you throughout your stay.

Please note: despite receiving a grant, non-European international students subject to differentiated fees will still have to pay these fees to enroll in the course of their choice.

Step 1 : I choose my Master's program from among the eligible programs.
Step 2 : I submit my application for the course of my choice (via the appropriate platform depending on my personal situation).
Step 3: The course coordinators review the applications and select those who will receive the scholarship.
Step 4 : I receive my admission letter.
Step 5: If I have been selected for the scholarship, I will receive my letter of award shortly afterwards.

The selection process is particularly rigorous: only candidates whose applications are judged to be excellent are selected and awarded the TIGER Master Excellence Scholarship. In the absence of notification of award, the application should be considered unsuccessful.

Amidex grant

The AMIDEX grant is designed to promote the international mobility of Aix Marseille Université students, as well as the hosting of international students within the institution. It supports internships or study periods lasting at least one month for outgoing mobility, and at least two months for incoming mobility.

The Amidex grant can only be used for projects financed by the Amidex foundation via the Instituts d'établissement and Amidex calls for projects such as the International call for projects and the Multilingualism call for projects. These projects can use their Amidex funding to award mobility grants based on pedagogical criteria.

  1. Check that the course you wish to enroll in is on the list.
  2. If it is, contact the course coordinator to find out how the grant is awarded.
  3. Apply for the course (via the appropriate platform depending on your personal situation).

NB: Fondation Amidex is not involved in student selection.

Since September 2024, international students subject to differentiated fees have been exempted from up to 75% if they are recipients of an Amidex incoming mobility grant. To find out more, visit the page dedicated to differential fees.

Eiffel Scholarship : call for applications 2026/2027

The Eiffel Scholarship is a scholarship of excellence for international students enrolled in degree programs.

Launched in January 1999 by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, this program aims to support the international attractiveness strategy of French higher education establishments, in a context of strong competition between countries to attract the best talent in master's, engineering and doctoral programs.

Identifier la formation que vous souhaitez intégrer. Notez bien la composante (faculté / institut / école) à laquelle elle appartient et l’intitulé exact de la formation en français, qui seront demandés dans le formulaire de candidature.

Préparer votre candidature. Vous devez fournir :

  • votre CV, précisant votre parcours académique et vos expériences professionnelles le cas échéant ;
  • une lettre de motivation expliquant votre projet professionnel ;
  • vos relevés de notes des trois dernières années, ainsi qu’une copie des derniers diplômes obtenus attestant de l’excellence de votre performance académique ;
  • éventuellement, une lettre de recommandation (facultatif).

Veuillez fusionner ces documents dans un seul fichier PDF et le nommer : "NOM.Prénom".

Se rapprocher de l’Ecole doctorale (ED) concernée par votre domaine d’études afin de connaître les conditions d'admission (l’information est en bas de page).

Trouver un directeur ou une directrice de thèse au sein d’Aix Marseille Université.

Préparer votre candidature. Vous devez fournir les documents suivants :

  • Copie du passeport ou pièce d’identité ;
  • Curriculum Vitae rédigé en français ou en anglais ;
  • Diplômes et classement : copie du ou des derniers diplômes obtenus, avec le classement, le rang obtenu et tout autre document attestant de l’excellence de votre performance académique ;
  • Relevés de résultats des trois dernières années ;
  • Projet professionnel rédigé en français ou en anglais (1 à 2 pages) qui doit expliquer le choix des études en France pour votre future carrière professionnelle. Cette présentation pourra être éventuellement étayée par un avis de personnes extérieures à l'établissement, par exemple, d’une entreprise ou de responsable de formation.
  • Présentation du projet de thèse et de l’avancement des recherches rédigé en français ou anglais (1 à 5 pages) détaillant le sujet de thèse, objectifs et hypothèses de recherche, caractère novateur, impact et bénéfices du projet ;
  • Un avis argumenté sur la qualité scientifique du sujet de thèse rédigé par un.e expert.e (professeur.e d’université/directeur de recherche) du domaine de recherche concerné obligatoirement extérieur à Aix Marseille Université ainsi que le CV de cet expert.e ;
  • Plan de financement global de la thèse ;
  • Convention de cotutelle de thèse ou attestation de co-direction signée par les parties françaises et étrangères pour toutes les candidatures (à l’exception des candidatures primo-entrantes pour une 1ère année de thèse et une demande de bourse Eiffel de 36 mois : la cotutelle ou codirection n'est pas demandée dans ce cas).

Transmettre, avant le XX/XX/XXXX (date à venir), l’ensemble des pièces justificatives à la Direction des Relations Internationales - DRI par email (dri-bourse-eiffel@univ-amu.fr), en mettant en copie votre directeur ou directrice de thèse. Le directeur de thèse sera chargé de recueillir les avis du directeur du laboratoire d’accueil et du directeur de l’école doctorale de rattachement, champs obligatoires dans le dossier de candidature. Marquer dans la ligne du sujet : « Bourse Eiffel Doctorat – Candidature complète ».

La DRI vous répondra en vous fournissant les accès au dossier de candidature dématérialisé ainsi que les instructions pour les prochaines étapes à suivre.

Campus France scholarships

Campus France propose, pour le compte de l’État français et de nombreux partenaires, différents programmes de bourses destinés aux étudiants internationaux souhaitant poursuivre leurs études en France. Selon le programme, ces bourses peuvent couvrir tout ou partie des frais liés aux études et au séjour, notamment les frais de vie, d’assurance ou de voyage.

On behalf of the French government and numerous partners, Campus France offers various scholarship programs for international students wishing to study in France. These grants can cover all or part of the costs associated with studying and living in France (living expenses, insurance, travel, etc.).

Eligibility criteria, amounts and application procedures vary according to program and country of origin. Students are advised to consult the information published by Campus France and by the Espace Campus France in their country of origin on a regular basis.
