Registration fees
The payment of differentiated enrolment fees by non-EU students came into effect at the start of the 2022/23 academic year. Payment must be made each academic year at the time of administrative enrolment.

Exchange students must pay their tuition fees at their home university.
Accepted payment methods
How do I pay my enrolment fees?
- As a general rule, payment is made online by credit card during the administrative enrolment process via IA Web.
- If you are registering in person at your academic office, you can pay by cheque (made payable to the Accounting Officer, Aix-Marseille University), by credit card or by bank transfer.
- If you wish to enrol on an institution-specific degree programme, it is possible to set up a payment plan via direct debit for amounts of €1,000 or more (the first payment by cheque, credit card or bank transfer, followed by two direct debits). Payment in three instalments is not permitted for enrolment fees for national degree programmes.
- A CROUS grant entitles you to exemption from enrolment fees.
If your financial circumstances are currently under review, your enrolment will be placed on hold pending payment whilst your application is being processed by the CROUS.
If your application is accepted by the CROUS, you will be awarded a grant and, as a result, you will be exempt from paying enrolment fees. - For students on work-study programmes, please contact your registrar’s office ( your enrolment will be placed on hold pending payment).
I do not have a cheque or a bank card
- I can make a bank transfer by asking my student services office for the University’s bank details.
- I can also pay in cash if the amount is €300 or less. I’ll contact my student services office to find out the procedure to follow: book an appointment with the Accounting Office at the Palais du Pharo in Marseille, collect the form…
- Payment in three instalments is accepted.
I can request a refund of my registration fees
- If I withdraw my administrative enrolment before 1 September, I am automatically entitled to a refund of my enrolment fees. After this date, refunds are subject to certain criteria and time limits.
- In the event of a change of university: transfer out or transfer in. In both cases, the new university will enrol you free of charge upon presentation of a certificate of enrolment and the transfer form from your previous university.
- In the event of a change of institution (other than a higher education institution)
- Other cases: a late decision on a grant or fee exemption after payment of the enrolment fees.
For further information, I will contact my student services office
