As a reminder, the amount of the differentiated fees in 2025-2026 was :
- 2,895 euros for a year in the Bachelor's program
- 3,941 euros for a year in the Master's program

THE NATIONAL FRAMEWORK OF DIFFERENTIAL FEES
All students wishing to enroll in a higher education institution in France must pay registration fees for each course of study.
Since the start of the 2019/20 academic year, non-EU students have had to pay different registration fees to French and European students, except in certain cases defined in the national exemption framework.
You are exempt from the differentiated registration fees if you meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be a national of a member country of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland;
- Hold a residence permit bearing the words "Carte de séjour de membre de la famille d'un citoyen de l'Union/EEE /Suisse" (residence permit for family members of EU/EEA/Swiss citizens);
- Be the holder of a residence permit issued by the French authorities;
- Be a minor under the age of eighteen whose parents or legal guardians hold a residence permit;
- Have refugee status, or be a person whose father, mother or legal guardian has this status;
- Be domiciled in France for tax purposes, or be attached to a tax household domiciled in France for at least two years as of January 1 of the academic year;
- Be a national of a country that has signed an agreement with France providing for the payment of tuition fees under the same conditions as French students;
- Enrolled for a doctorate, habilitation to direct research or 3rd cycle medical, odontological or pharmaceutical degree;
- Be registered as an exchange student;
- hold a scholarship from the French government, CROUS or a French embassy
- Have been enrolled in a French public higher education establishment at all levels for the 2018/19 academic year;
- have been enrolled in a French as a Foreign Language (FLE) center in France for the 2018/19 academic year.
AIX MARSEILLE UNIVERSITÉ'S PARTIAL EXEMPTION FRAMEWORK
In addition to the exceptions mentioned above, the Board of Directors of Aix Marseille Université decided on September 21, 2021 and again on September 24, 2024 to implement an exemption policy aligned with its strategy of societal commitment on the one hand, and the desire to promote the French language and openness towards Africa and the Mediterranean on the other.
Consequently, for the 2026/27 academic year, an automatic partial exemption of up to 75% of the differentiated registration fees will be applied to all students subject to the differentiated fees and registered for a national diploma who are nationals of the countries listed below.

TOTAL EXEMPTION FRAMEWORK 2025-2026
True to its socially committed motto, in June 2025 Aix Marseille Université approved :
- total exemption from tuition fees for displaced students from Ukraine benefiting from temporary protection (on presentation of supporting documents) preparing a national degree, excluding distance learning, during the 2025/26 academic year.
- full exemption from tuition fees for Palestinian students preparing a national diploma, excluding distance learning, for the 2025/26 academic year.
- renewal of the total exemption from tuition fees for students of Lebanese nationality preparing a national diploma, excluding distance learning, for the 2025/26 academic year.
The 2026/27 total exemption framework may be subject to change.
