1. Description

The Test de Connaissance du Français is a national French language certification issued by France Education International. It enables non-French speakers to have their knowledge of French assessed and validated quickly and easily. It functions like a photographic snapshot of an individual's language skills at a given point in his or her life, and is valid for 2 years.

The test consists of :

  • 3 compulsory tests ( multiple-choice questions):
oral comprehension, mastery of language structures, written comprehension.
  • 2 complementary tests (optional):

TCF results position candidates on the Council of Europe's six-level scale*, from level A1 to level C2.
