Publishing and Disseminating Knowledge

The SCD raises awareness, provides training, and supports researchers, faculty members, and doctoral students in their Open Science practices. In particular, it assists with depositing work in HAL and offers expertise on emerging issues in Open Science.

Research and Commercialization Division (DRV)
The Directorate of Research and Valorization (DRV) implements the research and innovation policy of Aix-Marseille University (AMU). It leads, supports, and promotes the university’s scientific research. As part of the Open Science initiative, the DRV helps coordinate and monitor AMU’s Open Science policy, sets up researcher profiles (HAL, ORCID), and supports research units under the Performance Bonus program, in collaboration with the Joint Documentation Service (SCD). It also oversees initiatives in science outreach (CST) and citizen science, which contribute to the sharing and dissemination of knowledge to the broader public.

OpenEdition
OpenEdition is a national research infrastructure dedicated to digital scholarly publishing in the humanities and social sciences, operated by the CNRS, Aix-Marseille University, EHESS, and Avignon University. It supports the open-access dissemination of scientific publications and outputs through its platforms for journals (OpenEdition Journals), books (OpenEdition Books), research blogs (Hypothèses), and scientific events (Calenda). It provides expertise in open-access digital publishing, the promotion of practices and skills related to digital publishing, as well as research and innovation in methods for disseminating and searching for information in the digital environment.

Mediterranean House of the Humanities (MMSH)
The MMSH contributes to the development of Open Science in the humanities and social sciences by bringing together initiatives, services, and communities focused on the dissemination, promotion, and preservation of scholarly output. It relies in particular on its Libraries & Archives, Publishing, Audiovisual, and Digital Platforms (Digital Humanities, PUD-AMU, Cartomundi) divisions to support open research practices.

Ensuring Responsible Research

The Research Ethics and Scientific Integrity Unit (DRV) 
The Research Ethics Committee assists researchers in obtaining an ethical review of their scientific approaches prior to the start of any prospective research project involving data collection or retrospective data analysis.

The Scientific Integrity Officer is notified of any breaches of scientific integrity by members of the AMU scientific community or external parties (FFP: fraud, falsification, plagiarism, data theft, etc.)

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) Unit assists researchers in ensuring compliance with regulations regarding the collection, analysis, and storage of personal data related to their research projects in order to promote responsible data sharing.

Manage, Share, and Leverage Research Data

Center for Research Data Training and Support (CEDRE)
CEDRE assists and supports researchers across all disciplines in managing their research data throughout its entire lifecycle. This support is structured around three areas of expertise: digital infrastructure, data science, and legal guidance. To achieve this, the program is built on three pillars: training for staff (researchers, faculty members, engineers, etc.) and doctoral students; support for research projects; and, finally, awareness-raising through targeted initiatives (webinars, seminars, etc.). All of this is carried out in accordance with FAIR principles and Open Science practices.

Aix-Marseille University Academic Data Platform(PUD amU) / IR* Progedo
The PUD-AMU supports researchers, doctoral candidates, and students in the humanities and social sciences in finding and using quantitative data, processing it with software, and conducting statistical analyses. It offers expertise in survey data, analytical methods, and related tools, particularly for research on the Mediterranean region. As part of the national PROGEDO network, it contributes to the development of a data culture in the humanities and social sciences and offers training and personalized support for research projects.

Digital Humanities (Huma-Num)
Huma-Num is a research infrastructure dedicated to the digital humanities and research data in the humanities and social sciences. It supports humanities and social sciences communities in the design, management, preservation, and sharing of digital corpora, data, and tools, drawing on services tailored to digital humanities practices.

Aix-Marseille High-Performance Computing Center (CCIAM)
The CCIAM provides researchers with high-performance computing resources, cloud environments, and temporary storage space dedicated to the processing and analysis of research data. It offers training and assistance in using these resources and the associated software tools.

Digital Directorate (DIRNUM)
Through its data center, DIRNUM provides researchers with long-term storage space and makes hosting resources available for physical machines (excluding computing) and virtual machines, which are managed by the research teams.
