As from the 2026–2027 academic year, the following rules will apply at Aix Marseille Université:
➝ First-time non-EU students must pay the full amount of the differentiated tuition fees upon enrollment. Payment in three installments is not permitted.
➝ Non-EU students already enrolled at amU for the 2025–2026 academic year and continuing in the same academic cycle will retain the benefits of the fee schedule that applied to them in 2025-2026.
➝ Non-EU students already enrolled at amU in 2025-2026 but changing academic levels must pay the full amount of the differentiated tuition fees (for example: moving from the third year of a Bachelor’s degree to the first year of a Master’s program, moving from the third year of a Bachelor’s with a Professional Track to the first year of a Master’s program, or moving from a professional Bachelor’s degree to the first year of a Master’s program...).
➝ For Lebanese, Ukrainian, and Palestinian students, enrollments will be systematically placed on hold, regardless of their situation (first-time arrivals, continuation of studies, or change in academic level), to allow for a review of their circumstances and, if applicable, the granting of a full exemption.
➝ An admission decision issued before the decree took effect is not, in and of itself, sufficient to allow for the continuation of the previous exemption policy; only an individual notification expressly stating that an exemption was granted before the decree took effect allows students to benefit from the previous policy.
Amount of differentiated tuition fees for 2026–27:
Bachelor’s degree: €2,902
Master’s degree: €3,950
Are automatically exempt
(do not pay tuition fees):
- French government scholarship holders,
- Students covered by a cooperation agreement with a foreign institution that grants the same exemption to French students.
Partial exemption (75%):
➝ Certain students who have paid the full amount of the differentiated tuition fees may be eligible for a partial exemption of 75% of those fees, subject to the applicable regulatory quota.
➝ amU will review these cases centrally.
➝ Eligible students will be notified directly after the registration period closes, starting in December.
➝ Students do not need to submit any paperwork to the Registrar’s Office to receive this waiver. The application is entirely online and is completed directly during the administrative registration process by checking a box included in the registration form.
Are not subject to differentiated tuition fees (pay national fees):
- Students who are French nationals,
- Citizens of the EU, the EEA, Monaco, Andorra, Quebec, and Switzerland,
- Doctoral students, postgraduate students in health sciences, and holders of an HDR,
- Refugees, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, and their children,
- Long-term residents in France and their minor children,
- Individuals who have been tax residents in France for more than 2 years,
- Students in preparatory classes for the grandes écoles (CPGE).
