L'institut Marseille Maladies Rares dispose de plusieurs plateformes technologiques au sein de ses laboratoires.

Cell reprogramming and differentiation facility

logo MaSC

The Marseille Stem Cells (MaSC) core facility realizes cell reprogramming, isolation, characterization and quality control of human pluripotent stem cells and trains users. The facility is also involved in the technological development such as adaptation to new techniques of reprogramming or optimization of differentiation protocols. The hiPSCs core facility has received several grants, from Association Française contre les Myopathies (AFM), Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale (FRM) and Fondation Aix Marseille University. The MaSC core facility is associated to several research programs led by members of our research unit (AFM, ANR, A*Midex…) and has recently received a label from Aix Marseille University. The facility is open to external users for training, on-demand reprogramming or production of differentiated cells for disease modelling, drug screening etc. Website

GBiM: Genomics & Bioinformatics Core Facility

image bioinformatique

The missions of the Genomics and Bioinformatics platform are to provide access to genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics sequencing, and to offer analysis services for research teams of the Research Unit, as well as to external research teams and clients. The aim of this platform is to support and boost the genomics projects developed by providing scientific and technologic support both at the experimental design and at the analysis/interpretation steps. The services provided by the platform, include next generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, qRT-PCR, and bioinformatics services. Website

Animal facilities

The Animal Phenotyping Platform (APP) is a facility for studying animal models (zebrafish and mice) of genetic disorders. The facility provides investigators with state of the arts equipment for the identification and the study of mouse models of human diseases. It also establishes protocols for the phenotyping of particular models through a functional experimentation. Promoting training opportunities for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows is also our mission. The laboratory is fully equipped to meet the demands of researchers to test animal behavior (Morris water maze, open field, Cat-Walk (gait analysis system), T-maze system, viewpoint…), and other physiological parameters (grip strength test, Plethysmograph, phenorack…), and to perform surgery on animal. Transcriptomic & Genomic Platform Marseille Luminy

logo TGML

The "Transcriptomics and Genomics of Marseille-Luminy" (TGML) is a GIS IBiSA National Platform and a founding member of France Génomique, the National Infrastructure for genomic analysis and bioinformatics. Historically oriented toward transcriptomics analyses the platform has also a strong background in epigenomics and bioinformatics. Our platform engineers provide numerous services ranging from microarray data production and analysis, sequencing of various epigenomic material together with reproducible bioinformatics analyses. With the acquisition of the Chromium Controller from 10X Genomics, the platform also offers single cell sequencing as well as genome (or exome) sequencing in long synthetic reads. The platform is accessible to French and foreign public research teams, as well as to industry. The entire activity of the platform is ISO 9001: 2015 and NFX 50-900: 2016 certified. The quality management system concerns: expertise, research and development in genomics and bioinformatics in life sciences. Website

ReMap

logo ressource ReMap

ReMap aims to provide the largest catalogs of high-quality regulatory regions resulting from a large-scale integrative analysis of hundreds of transcription factors and regulators from DNA-binding experiments in Human and Arabidopsis.
In the 2020 update of ReMap we have collected, analyzed and retained after quality control 2764 new human ChIP-seq and 208 ChIP-exo datasets available from public sources. The updated human atlas totalizes 5798 datasets covering a total of 1135 transcriptional regulators (TRs) with a catalog of 165 million (M) peaks. All catalogs are made available through track hubs at Ensembl and UCSC Genome Browsers. Additionally, ReMap comes with a new web framework providing an interactive user-interface, including improved search features. Finally, full programmatically access to the underlying data is available using a RESTful API together with a new R Shiny interface for a TRs binding enrichment analysis tool. Website

Shared Imaging Platform of Luminy Campus

The PICSL facility offers a variety of state-of-the-art imaging systems (e.g. multiphoton, confocal imaging, light sheet microscopy, superresolution microscopy, electron microscopy) to a large community of scientists in the field of cell developmental biology, immunology and neurobiology. PICSL was founded in 2002 in the context of a partnership between two biology institutes, the Center for Immunology of Marseille-Luminy  (CIML) and the Developmental Biology Institute of Marseille (IBDM).  The shared PICSL facility is identified at the national level as an “Infrastructure en Biologie Santé et Agronomie“ (IBISA) and is part of the France-BioImaging national infrastructure. In addition to providing access and assistance to users, the facility also trains students and provides theoretical and practical courses for lifelong training for academics and private companies. It also benefits from strong interactions with research and development teams at IBDM, CIML and Fresnel Institute, Marseille, as well as from the technological transfer of the national infrastructure.
