Visiting Researchers

In order to strengthen partnerships and facilitate the emergence of international collaborative projects, the Institute of Mediterranean Archaeology will host three "visiting scholars" for a one-month stay over the period from January 2021 to December 2021.

The invited personalities (researchers, teacher-researchers, engineers, post-doctoral or doctoral students) must be employed by a foreign institution for the duration of their stay.

The Institute will cover travel and accommodation expenses up to a maximum of €2000. Payment will be made afterwards. No advance payment can be made.

The following criteria will be examined in priority:

  • Institution of affiliation of the invited personalities (any possible origin, but applications concerning personalities belonging to institutions members of the CIVIS consortium or located in countries bordering the Mediterranean will be given priority);
  • Scientific spin-offs of the residency (joint response to an AAP, transfer of a field or laboratory competence, co-supervision of a thesis...) ;
  • Pedagogical benefits of the residency (courses, seminars, specific training module at master and doctorate level, preparation of a CIVIS action...).

Applications must be submitted no later than 15 September 2020. The results will be announced in October 2020.

Applications are made by permanent members of the laboratories belonging to the Institute. Download the call and the application form.
