The Scientific Steering Committee (COS) is called upon approximately every 5 years by Aix-Marseille University (AMU) to analyse the research at the Aix-Marseille site and formulate recommendations on future research orientations.
The last COS meeting was held in September 2015, and led to a resolutely strategic reflection on a generic question: "What should the research of the Aix-Marseille site be like in 2025? ». Chaired by P. Busquin and co-chaired by JC. In Lehmann, the COS brought together some forty international experts selected by the COS Organising Committee and the Presidency of the University for their scientific reputation and experience in the exercise of responsibilities relating to the management of interdisciplinary scientific activities and in the European area.
The recommendations of the COS were particularly useful in defining the research master plan and guiding scientific policy for the next ten years.
