ITEM INSTITUTE COUNCIL

The governance of the Institut ITEM is ensured by several complementary bodies. The Institute Council of ITEM validates the main strategic orientations of the Institute in terms of research, training and innovation.

Description

The Institut ITEM is managed by an Institute Council which validates the main orientations in terms of research, training and innovation.

The Institute Council is chaired by the Director of the Institute. It meets at least twice a year.

It is composed of members with voting and advisory rights:

  • Members with voting rights: Equal representation of the components (college 1) and laboratories (college 2) participating in the Institute project. The Directors of the Units / components or their representatives sit on the Board.

College 1 includes the directors (or their representatives) of the Institute's member components: OSU Pythéas, ALLSH (Faculty of Arts, Letters, Languages and Human Sciences), IMPGT ( Institute of Public Management and Territorial Governance), Faculty of Medical and Paramedical Sciences, MMSH ( Mediterranean House of Human Sciences), Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Faculty of Science.

College 2, comprising the directors (or their representatives) of the Institute's member laboratories: CEREGE (European Centre for Environmental Geosciences), IMBE (Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Marine and Continental Ecology), LPED (Polulation Environment Development Laboratory), MIO (Mediterranean Institute of Oceanology), RECOVER (Risks, Ecosystems, Vulnerability, Environment, Resilience), BIAM (Institute Biosciences and Biotechnologies of Aix-Marseille), CERGAM (Centre d' Etudes et de Recherche en Gestion d'Aix-Marseille), DICE (Droit International Comparé et Européen), ESPACE (Etude Structures, Adaptation Processes and Changes in Space), LCE (Environmental Chemistry Laboratory ), MS2E (MultiScale Material Science for Energy and Environment), TELEMME (Temps, Espaces, Langages, Europe Méridionale - Méditerranée), LIEU ( Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire En Urbanisme), LAMES (Laboratoire méditerranéen de sociologie).

A principle of parity of votes between the two colleges is ensured.

  • Members in an advisory capacity by right: The Director of the Institute (RST), the Project Manager, the Director of the Doctoral College of Aix-Marseille University
  • Members in an advisory capacity by appointment: 1 full representative and 1 alternate representative of the students and doctoral students, the Institute's Deputy Directors of Training and Research.

The student and doctoral student representatives are appointed by the Director of the Institute on the proposal of the assembly of students in the Institute's programme and of doctoral students funded by the Institute.

Quorum: reached when half of the votes are represented.

Voting: The decisions of the Institute Council are subject to a vote and are taken by a simple majority of its members with voting rights, present or represented
