Schéma énergétique patrimonial

The energy plan was launched at the beginning of 2014 with the following objectives: reducing energy consumption and expenditure, reducing management costs, improving the efficiency of property management, improving user comfort, social and environmental responsibility, producing renewable energy and reducing CO2 emissions.

1. Presentation

The project was carried out in three phases: a first phase of diagnosis and definitions of strategic issues, a second phase aimed at detailing all the energy performance solutions that could be implemented by the university and a final phase aimed at carrying out energy action plans in the short, medium and long term.

2. The actions

The university was mobilized throughout the project and actions were implemented. Some highlights of the project are presented below.

2.1 Visiting the buildings

To carry out the diagnosis of the heritage, 63 buildings were visited, representing nearly 450,000 m². All the energy components that make up the buildings have been diagnosed:

  • Building envelopes: facades, carpentry, roofs, low floors and shading
  • Energy systems: boiler rooms, ventilation, cooling, lighting and DHW

2.2 The balance of energy consumption

For each building, gas, fuel oil and electricity consumption have been analysed over the last 3 years. The university's average consumption is 280 kWhep/m².an, which is lower than the national average of 300 kWh/m².an.
