EM'AMU

DCS - Visuel EM'AMU

This year, AMU is launching its first Early Music ensemble, called "EM'AMU".

EM'AMU - The Early Music Ensemble of Aix-Marseille University

The aim of this instrumental ensemble is to discover and perform heritage music from the Middle Ages to the Baroque;
Directed by Julien Ferrando (Senior Lecturer, PRISM Laboratory (UMR 7061), EM'AMU will allow experimentation and practice of specific heritage musical gestures (touches, articulations, phrasing), but also to discover and practice improvisation and diminution. This ensemble also seeks to open a permanent dialogue around common spaces between performers, creators, researchers of Aix-Marseille University and external guests.

Become an EM'AMU member:

The Early Music Ensemble is open to students, former students and staff from all parts of the university. An audition will be organized during the first semester for strings, woodwinds, winds and basso continuo (viola da gamba, cello, harpsichord/positive organ) as well as traditional music instruments (flutes, galoubet tambourine, Celtic harps, pipe fiddle, bagpipes, skin percussion, oud).

To participate in the audition (in October/November), please register here.
Following your registration, you will be contacted for more information.

Rehearsals :

Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, at the CUBE, Site Schuman in Aix-en-Provence
Start of rehearsals: December 2021.
