CIVIS for students

As a civic and European university alliance, CIVIS makes it a priority to address the major societal challenges facing the 21st century. CIVIS structures its teaching activities around these challenges, in relation to research and innovation, and accompanies them with civic engagement activities and partnerships with Mediterranean and African interlocutors.

CIVIS recognizes the importance of the principles of the Bologna process in increasing mobility between the 10 members of the Alliance and other partner universities in Europe, and ultimately in creating a European Higher Education Area. To this end, CIVIS foresees the creation of a CIVIS identity card (for students but also for researchers and staff), full recognition of credits obtained within the alliance, the diploma supplement, measures supporting the social dimension of mobility, quality assessment processes, etc.)

According to its mission statement, it envisions "the European Civic University as a space for innovative and responsible teaching, research, cultural exchange and civic action within Europe from the Baltic to the Mediterranean, while engaging with the world, its people and its institutions.

A myriad of opportunities and benefits

All Aix-Marseille University students, regardless of their discipline, can apply for an Erasmus+ exchange through the CIVIS alliance, and are eligible for an Erasmus+ scholarship. In addition to this, AMU students also have access to a range of courses developed on all the other campuses of the Alliance.

Thanks to the commitment of the CIVIS Alliance, you can also build strong links with a multitude of actors in civil society, research, and the public and private sectors and thus increase your chances in your future job search.
  • Access to international programs on the major societal challenges of our century. These programs are free, recognized at the European level and available in 8 different languages. Within the framework of these programs you can carry out a mobility which can be supported by the Erasmus + grants.
