CIVIS for teacher-researchers

As a civic and European university alliance, CIVIS makes it a priority to address the major societal challenges facing the 21st century. CIVIS structures its teaching activities around these challenges, in relation to research and innovation, and accompanies them with civic engagement activities and partnerships with Mediterranean and African interlocutors.

Opportunities for teacher-researchers

Excellence in research is a key asset for building joint training and other innovative activities in these fields. By fosteringinterdisciplinarity, sharing research structures and funding for joint projects, CIVIS strengthens the existing research links between the alliance's member universities.

CIVIS offers a range of opportunities to faculty members

  • Easy access to a European and collaborative environment
  • Development of professional skills through an integrated development program
  • The possibility to work on interdisciplinary and international projects focused on tomorrow's societal challenges
  • A platform for the exchange of best practices in teaching and research
  • A professional network at European and international level
  • Numerous opportunities for multidisciplinary research in the network of ten member universities

By joining CIVIS, teachers-researchers participate directly in the 5 major themes at the heart of the alliance:

health | cities, territories and mobilities | climate, environment and energy | digital and technological transformations | society, cultures and heritage

These major themes are the cradle of innovative educational programs closely linked to research and innovation. They address issues from a multidisciplinary and complementary perspective and serve as the basis for the development of high-level research collaborations.
