The institute synergistically relies on the competences and equipment of the Aix-Marseille physics and chemistry scientific communities in the fields of material sciences and nanotechnologies. It aims to exalt material properties at the nanoscale in order to promote new materials at the meso- and macroscopic scales, with a particular focus on smart materials and optronics.

AMUtech is clearly a multidisciplinary institute that will orient its strategy by considering and studying the economic and societal challenges of nanotechnologies.
