AMU INFO - N°30

Information letter from the President of Aix-Marseille University to the whole university community.

Marseille, Monday 04 January 2022

Dear colleagues,
Dear students,

I wish you all a wonderful year 2022. I hope from the bottom of my heart that this year will mark the return to conviviality and life on our campuses. To achieve this, we must maintain the collective dynamic that drives us in order to get through this health crisis in the best possible conditions. So here are the terms of resumption for the beginning of the year:

1. Teleworking

As announced at the end of the year, the use of telework for BIATSS staff must be encouraged everywhere and whenever possible. Indeed, it is part of the approach to prevent the risk of infection, reducing both travel and the density of staff in the premises of AMU.

The framework agreement of 13 July 2021 on telework in the public service provides that in exceptional circumstances, employers may impose telework.

Thus, as of today and for a period of three weeks, telework is compulsory at a rate of 3 days per week for staff whose functions allow it and subject to service requirements. Those who are able to do so will be able to telework up to 4 days per week.

As regards on-site work, stricter health rules must be applied and meetings by audio or video conference must be preferred.

Finally, I would like to remind you that facilities are granted to staff wishing to be vaccinated, as well as for their children, via the special leave of absence scheme as well as the rearrangement of working hours useful for the deployment of health measures.

2. Course and examination arrangements

As previously announced and as authorized by the circular of the General Directorate of Higher Education and Professional Integration of December 29, 2021, the examinations planned for the next few days will take place in classrooms, applying the barrier measures and the maximum distance (respecting the prescriptions of the health protocol defined in November 2021).

To this end, the lectures and tutorials will be conducted remotely until January 17.

Covid + and contact cases:

Concerning COVID positive students, summoned to an exam during their isolation period, they cannot take part in it.

A substitution session will be organized within 2 months after the initial session. Students will be notified of the dates of this session at least 15 days in advance and will have to justify their absence with a justification provided by the Health Insurance.

Students identified as a confirmed "contact case", whether they have a complete vaccination schedule or not, who are called for an exam during their "contact case" period can also benefit from this session, subject to the same supporting documents.

Again, I am aware that these measures are restrictive. We are committed to ensuring the safety of everyone on our campuses while guaranteeing our fundamental missions to the maximum extent possible. This partial return to school will, I hope, allow us to return to the campuses in the near future. In the meantime, let us not relax our collective effort and remain faithful to our values since the beginning of this crisis: solidarity, social commitment and courage.

I wish you all a very good start to the new school year and once again, my best wishes for the year 2022.

Best wishes.
