OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Program in International Humanitarian Action is an inter-university, multi-disciplinary graduate program that provides high-quality academic education and professional skills for personnel destined to operate in the field, or at least in an international context. The aim is to provide high-quality, practical teaching designed to enable students to become operational as lawyers or humanitarian workers in complex environments (conflict, pre-conflict or post-conflict zones, humanitarian emergencies, natural disasters, political tensions, extreme poverty, health challenges).

It is the first Master's program in the field of humanitarian studies, created in 1993 with the support of the European Commission. AMU has been a partner of the program since its inception.

The Master's program combines theoretical and analytical knowledge and skills with a practical approach. The interdisciplinary, multicultural and multilingual courses are taught by over 150 in-house experts and lecturers with field experience. Over 3,000 graduates work worldwide in humanitarian aid and international cooperation for organizations and institutions in the field.

The innovative aspect: One of the unique elements of the program is the mobility that lies at the heart of the NOHA experience. Students work in different universities and benefit from rich cultural and linguistic interaction.

Significant project achievement : A training program of excellence for international and humanitarian lawyers, NOHA was one of the first Erasmus Mundus Master's programs in Europe. In 2020, the European Commission's Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency has once again chosen to fund the NOHA Joint Master's Program in International Humanitarian Action.
