The ESPE is responsible for training professionals in the fields of education and training through the Master's degree in teaching, education and training (MEEF) and some twenty specialities in teaching and training (EF), in collaboration with the UFRs of the University of Aix-Marseille and the University of Avignon and the Vaucluse countries. These training courses are provided at the Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Marseille and Digne-les-Bains sites. A series of paths lead to careers in educational research or more specific fields such as professional writer or person in charge of safety and occupational risk prevention training.
The training offer is complemented by the responsibility of the teaching units for raising awareness of the teaching, education and training professions and access to a number of qualifications such as C2I2e, language certification and occupational risk prevention education. In terms of research, ESPE is associated with nine laboratories conducting research in education and gathered in a federative research structure, SFERE Provence and is the depositary, in partnership with the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, of a Unesco Chair in "Scientific and technological education and teacher training". Open to the world, ESPE establishes numerous training, expertise and research partnerships at regional, national, European, Mediterranean and international levels.
